Rebates

 

**Rebate funding for the CAW system has been depleted. Applications will not be accepted until funding has been secured.

Description of Each

California American Water and the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District (MPWMD) offer rebates for the following water-saving appliances. Rebates are available for residents within the MPWMD. Customers of Seaside Municipal Water District may also qualify for additional incentives offered by the City of Seaside.

Toilets - Toilets and urinals are the largest source of indoor water use in most homes and businesses. Older toilets can consume as much as 3.5 to 8 gallons per flush. Take advantage of savings on new models using 1.28 gallons or less:

Qualifying Devices

  • High Efficiency Toilet – $200
  • Ultra High Efficiency Toilet -- $250
  • High Efficiency Dishwasher – $125
  • High Efficiency Clothes Washer (Water Factor 5 or less) – $250
  • Commercial High Efficiency Clothes Washer – $450. Includes washers installed in a common laundry room in Multi-Family Residential apartments.
  • Water Efficient Commercial Dishwasher --
    - Under counter model - $500
    - Single tank door type model - $1,000
    - Single tank conveyor model - $1,500
    - Multi-tank conveyor model - $2,000
  • Instant-Access Hot Water System – $200 per qualifying property.
  • High Efficiency Urinal – $200
  • Pint Urinal – $300
  • Water Broom - $150
  • Zero Water Consumption Urinal – $300
  • Cooling Tower Conductivity Controller – $2,500
  • CEE Tier II Water Efficient Ice Machine – $500
  • X-ray film processor recirculation system – $2,500
  • Smart Irrigation System Controller – $100 for up to four stations. An additional $10 shall be available per station up to twenty stations.
  • Rain Sensor attached to an Irrigation System – $25
  • Rotating Sprinkler Nozzle – $4.00 each, minimum purchase and installation of ten.
  • Soil Moisture Sensor(s) on a conventional automatic Irrigation System – $25. Gypsum block Soil Moisture Sensors do not qualify for a Rebate.
  • Cistern water tanks – $25 per 100 gallons of water storage capacity to a maximum storage capacity of 25,000 gallons per Site. Sites must have sufficient roof area to fill Cistern capacity and my require an inspection.
  • Suspended for Cal-Am Customers: Lawn removal and replacement with low water use plants or permeable surfaces -- $1.25 per square-foot to a maximum of 5,000 square-feet. Inspections and deed restrictions are required.
  • Synthetic Turf – $2.00 per square-foot, to a maximum of 2,000 square-feet per Site. Inspections and deed restrictions are required.
  • Dry Vacuum Pump - $200 per 0.05 HP to a limit of 4 HP
  • High Efficiency Connectionless Steamer - $1,500 per compartment
  • Graywater Irrigation System supplied by one Clothes Washer for irrigation - $100. A site inspection may be required.
  • Graywater Irrigation System supplied by one or more bathrooms to a Graywater Irrigation System -- $100. Residential Limit: 4. A site inspection may be required.
  • Non-Residential Graywater Irrigation System -- Case-by-case
  • Medical equipment steam sterilizer retrofit with a water tempering device -- $1,500.

Save Your Receipts

Receipts for all appliances and parts must be submitted with your rebate application - within 120 days of appliance purchase and installation.

Rebates are issued on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funds remain available. In the event that funds are expended, applications will be maintained in the order received. If all eligibility criteria has been met and additional funding is made available, rebates will be first funded for applications on file, with all subsequent applications taken in a first-come, first-served order as long as funding remains available.
